Phillip Low
Phillip Low (1965) is a New York-based artist who creates one-of-a-kind acrylic sculptures in various shapes, sizes and colors. He grew up in Vancouver, graduated from Central Saint Martins in London, then worked in Holland as a stylist. Returning to North America, he apprenticed with the legendary Geoffrey Beene, before becoming creative director at seminal design shop Troy. The influence of the minimal artists around Los Angeles in the 1960s is evident in his work, but he is just as likely to cite Finnish woven textiles or the color theories of Swiss designer Karl Gerstner.
